The Social and Economic Life Development Department is looking after the works to improve the Social and Economic Life of the people under the jurisdiction of the KJP Synod Mihngi and particularly in the rural places. This Department organizes Awareness programmes, trainings, seminars from time to time on different related topics like Drugs Abuse & Illicit Trafficking, HIV/AIDS, Anti-Corruption, etc.

The Department has also set up a  De-addiction and Rehabilitation Centre known as Break Through Centre  located at Khliehtyrshi,Jowai. Projects like an Orphanage known as “The K.J.P. Synod Mihngi Children’s Home” has been set up at Wahiajer village, West Jaintia Hills.  A School of Differently Abled known as “Khulu Malang Memorial School for Special Needs” which has been recently set up on 1st October, 2015 is temporarily functioned at Tyndowapung, Thadlaboh, Jowai.

The Department has also registered an Association known as Social Economic Life Development Association under relevant Acts/Rules of the Government of Meghalaya for the purpose of obtaining financial grants/assistance from Government side in organizing different programmes, seminars, etc. for the upliftment of social, civil and economic life of the people.
